How does your project use or challenge conventions of your genre? In a running magazine the expected conventions are the discussion of runners, multiple running gear advertisements and training plans. In Mile Breaker i followed the typical conventions by including a two page article about the life of a runner however, the original touch I added was including a different stage of their life such as the military. In the magazine articles I analysed, the information provided is mostly about the runner itself and their current activities. The use of vibrant colors in the cover was another convention purposely used. Usually what causes a specific costumer to buy a magazine is the cover photography. Include a track photograph and runners will be interested.
How does it represent social groups or issues? Mile breaker was not designed with the purpose of targeting issues among the topics presented. Instead it was only created with the purpose of informing the public with a healthy running life style and the little things such as running gear that can make their hobby more enjoyable.
