The target audience intended for the project would be local Sarasota, FL runners, athletes, ranging from novice to experts in physical activity, more specifically the sport of running. Other detailed factors include the age range of the group, this being from young adults towards middle age. Also, the classes targeted are middle, upper middle and upper classes due to such being the groups that tend to buy more magazines as a form of entertainment, based n research.
The magazine represents this specific audience with similar interests and common age ranges, by using conventions to catch their attention and also through the use social media. Such was included as an engaging factor. By publicizing the magazine as a promotional advertisement, possibly creating sponsored events in the future like sponsoring local races such as the Florida West Coast Half Marathon & 5K hosted in Sarasota and collaborating with known publishing companies such as Hearst Corporation (which publishes Runner's World, the magazine that mainly inspired the process of this project) would allow a further engagement. However, in this case the only distribution method that was carried forward due to the use of restricted possible means was publications on Instagram and Facebook which are composed and/or commonly used by my target audience (age ranges and the availability of variety of interests within this section of the population that uses such apps.) For example, Instagram is used by young adults with different interests and backgrounds and Facebook which is used by middle age adults also with different backgrounds and interests.
Therefore, starting from a broad level my product would go through direct distribution. With such model the company either directly sends the product to the end consumer or when the distributing chain is not as long, an example would be a company selling through modern retail. Based off the 3 P's (Product, Price and Promotion) of the measure scale of a "Penetration Level", the more specific model that I would use would be intensive distribution which is distribution on a large-scale and display of the product in as many ways and places as possible so that the customer sells in high volume. Due to the large amount that composes my target audience my product has to be available for everyone and couldn't fall under a selective (private) distribution model.
